Although Riesling (pronounced reeesling) is championed as one of the greatest white varietals by both wine trade and wine journos alike, it still endures something of an image problem. Germany, in particular the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region arguably produces the finest examples although Alsace and Australia's Clare Valley are both very worthy and will definitely reward those that choose to explore a little deeper.
